Inmate Worked at
Prison Dairy / Prison Officials are Searching
CORCORAN, CA – On Tuesday, May 1, 2012,
at approximately 10:25 p.m. a Level I (minimum custody) inmate assigned to work
at the Dairy (which is outside the electrical fence perimeter,) was discovered
missing. Inmate Raul Antonio Gutierrez Sobalvarro was last seen during the
regular 9 p.m. job-site institutional count.
Inmate Sobalvarro, 22, is a Hispanic
inmate with a medium build, dark complexion, black eyes and black hair.
He was last seen wearing a white jumpsuit with “CDCR Prisoner” printed on the
clothing. Sobalvarro is 5’ 6” and weighs 170 pounds.
Sobalvarro was serving a three-year
sentence from Los Angeles County for second-degree robbery. He had been
in state prison since July 1, 2011 and was scheduled to parole in October 2013.
Prison officials are continuing the
search for inmate Sobalvarro and local law agencies have been notified. If
anyone sees him or knows of his whereabouts, please notify local law
enforcement officials, California State Prison-Corcoran at (559) 992-6120, or
call 9-1-1.
CSP-Corcoran opened in 1988 and houses nearly 5,000 minimum-, medium-, maximum- and high-security custody inmates. The Kings County prison offers academic classes and vocational programs as well as community programs and work crews. The prison employs approximately 2,100 people.
