Inmate Walkaway from Alder Conservation Camp #20, near Klamath California.

A minimum-security inmate walked away from Alder Camp which is located near Klamath, California, in Del Norte County on March 26, 2014.

The walkaway, 26-year-old Corey Joseph Janic, is described as a white male, 5’ 11” tall, 145 pounds, with brown eyes, a shaved head, medium build and light complexion. He was last seen wearing orange pants stenciled with “C.D.C.R. Prisoner” down the pant leg.

Janic was committed to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation on March 15, 2011, from San Benito County for first-degree burglary and unlawful taking of a vehicle. He was serving a 5-year sentence and was scheduled to parole on November 13, 2014.

He was last seen running from Alder camp at approximately 10:30 this morning on March 26, 2014.

Escape apprehension efforts have been initiated and will continue. Anyone seeing him should contact 911 or law enforcement authorities immediately.
