Resource Fair to give Parolees an Opportunity for a Fresh Start

Job Opportunities, Drug Abuse Treatment, Health Care and Training among Offerings
 
What: Parolees and probationers will learn about some valuable resources to help them remain crime-free by becoming healthy and sober and learning work skills.  Hundreds of ex-offenders will meet with employers, vocational mentors, educators, labor representatives, and treatment providers at a one-day resource fair.

Who: Parolees and probationers, employers, educators, therapists, health care providers, labor union representatives, the California Department of Corrections  and Rehabilitation’s (CDCR’s) Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO), Sacramento County Probation, Sacramento Community Based Coalition (SCBC).     


When: Friday, September 5, 2014 9am-Noon

Where: SCBC Building, 10170 Missile Way, Mather, CA 95655
(Shuttle service provided from the light rail Mills Station)

Why: CDCR and its partners are increasing efforts to rehabilitate ex-offenders and help them become productive members of society. Resource Fair attendees can also enjoy lunch and watch the practice run of the 2014 California Capitol Air Show. (No one under 18 will be admitted to the fair.)
